Jan Updates

Hey Democrats,
Some updates on current club events.

- Club Bonding Event

Saturday, Feb 6
Great News! SAVE offered us a charter bus to take us to UCLA
So we will meet at AHS first before taking the bus.
10-15 spots open

- Haiti Fundraiser
YDA will participate in a multi-club campaign to raise funds for Haiti
You can still sign up next meeting to volunteer to collect money at various locations
(For example, Santa Anita Mall, Old Town Pas)
Clubs still need to meet to work out the details so more info soon.

- Voter Registration Drive
Will be held at the quad during the first week of March
waiting on approval from asb, more details to come
We will work on posters next week, so bring some markers!

- Portantino Breakfast
If you are looking for volunteer hours,

UCLA Townhall

Hey Guys!

The club has been invited to a town hall at UCLA on Sunday, Feb 24. Here's a quick summary of the event:

"Usually for a town hall of this type, we have about 200-300 people attending from a number of schools that is constantly changing. At a town hall on a college campus, we usually have the schools go early so that they can walk around and tour the campus. After that, at 6, we will go into the banquet room where food will be served. It is typically a three course meal when we have them at a college. After we finish eating, we have a panel of speakers discuss the topic at hand. Towards the end of the town hall, we have students ask the panel any questions that they may have After that, we all just go home."

We are looking to organize a carpool for this event that will meet first at AHS first.
Anyone that can offer rides will be much appreciated!

As always, those who attend can receive volunteer hours.
If you wish to go, please RSVP by the next club meeting (on January 25, there is no meeting next week due to MLK day)

ALSO A REMINDER: the club bonding event is next week.
we will be having a potlock at Emily's house on Sunday, Jan 24th.
