As a person who has been so committed to making a positive difference in our world, you understand the value of the Arts in our community, our schools, and our future. So I would like to invite you to meet and support a candidate for LA City Council District 2, who has been a passionate voice for the Arts in California: Assemblymember Paul Krekorian.

On Tuesday, November 17, Mary and I will be hosting a fundraiser for Paul Krekorian at the home of Eric Bauman, Vice Chair of the California Democratic Party and Chair of the Los Angeles County Democratic Party.

You have an opportunity to prove that artists, administrators, and audience members are an important electoral force in Los Angeles. Not since Joel Wachs retired in 2000 have we had a City Council person who championed the Arts. Paul Krekorian -- the author of AB 700, the Creative Industries Revitalization Act -- has consistently advocated for the Arts at the local and state level. Help me elect someone who reflects your values and believes, like you, in the power of art to change our City.

You may donate in person at the event, by mail or on-line to a maximum of $500. Your personal donation will be matched up to $250 by the City of Los Angeles.
